Fifth Row: Mr. Moore, Bryant Albaugh, Lloyd Collins, Tracy Jackson. The Festus High School Band under the direction of Mr. Heuby Moore enjoyed its 25th anniversary during 1959-60. From an orchestra of 40 organized in 1935 and from the first band of 36 in 1936, it has grown to 78 this year. They provided two enjoyable concerts held in the spring and fall. In addition they entertained between halves at school games and marched in the annual Festus and DeSoto Christmas parades. Also our marching band appeared at Band Day in Columbia and homecoming ceremonies at Cape Girardeau. Last year at the District Contest held in Cape Girardeau they received a one-rating. The coveted one-rating was also awarded them at the State Contest held at the University of Missouri.

THE THE BOYS’ GLEE GIRLS’ GLEE MIXED CHORUS PRESENTED A CHRISTMAS DAY” AT CANDLE LIGHT SERVICE. The Boys’ Glee Club under the direction of Mr. Heuby Moore, is composed of sixty-five boys. The received a 1 rating at Cape. This 1 rating made them eligible to attend the State Music Festival held at Columbia where they received all rating. 14
