OUTSTANDING STUDENTS ARE HONORED William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri was the scene of Girls' State, while Warrensburg was the scene of Boys’ State. These camps were held for a week last summer to promote citizenship among high school students. Two girls were sent to Fulton and three boys to Warrensburg. First Row: Sally AuBuchon, Jane Ann Shoush, Mike McNeil. Second Row: Terry Eggemeycr, Roger Resinger. Each month an outstanding Senior, chosen by the faculty of Festus High, is a guest of the Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club. This club meets every Tuesday. Fifth Row: Mr. Moore, Bryant Albaugh, Lloyd Collins, Tracy Jackson. The Festus High School Band under the direction of Mr. Heuby Moore enjoyed its 25th anniversary during 1959-60. From an orchestra of 40 organized in 1935 and from the first band of 36 in 1936, it has grown to 78 this year. They provided two enjoyable concerts held in the spring and fall. In addition they entertained between halves at school games and marched in the annual Festus and DeSoto Christmas parades. Also our marching band appeared at Band Day in Columbia and homecoming ceremonies at Cape Girardeau. Last year at the District Contest held in Cape Girardeau they received a one-rating. The coveted one-rating was also awarded them at the State Contest held at the University of Missouri.
