Matching- and Concert The Festus High School Band, under the direction of Mr. Heuby Moore Jr., again enjoyed a highly successful year. During the fall season marching was emphasized. The band performed many outstanding half-time shows at home football games. The band marched in both the Festus and the DeSoto Christmas parades and gave their annual Christmas concert. They participated in the District Contest in Cape Girardeau, where they received a 1 rating in 1957. They also received a 1” rating at the State Contest at Columbia in 1957. They sang Jingle Bells” and Gesu Bambino.” They competed in the annual spring festival at Cape Girardeau, where last year they received a superior rating, and took part in the state contests where they also emerged with a one-rating.
