Yesterday we left the nest with joyous hearts . . . free to lead our own lives, to make our own choices, to try our wings in the atmo- sphere of lzfe. No Mom to give us advice, no bratty little brother to nag us, no Dad to refuse us the key to the car or impose a curfew. At first we flzltered like fledglings in flightg then we discovered our wings and soared. . . sometimes onbf to flounder in the storms which blew us hither and thither. . . sometimes to rise to exhilerating heights. But are we ever realbf free from parenthood? We reflect that soon we ourselves will enter a realm new for us. We will graduate from college, ind our places in life, become parents ourselves. Therefore we pause now in our flight to acknowledge those who gave us our start, helped us to find our wings, showed us the way. In sefpride we feel that we can find answers that our parents never foundg in humility we trust that we may be able to do as well. Our hope is that our acknowledgement of indebtedness to our parents may help to close a small part of the generation gap.
