Q U55 7969 Qszzum cqgmoacf 'jawn and Study gzoup On JuLv 7, 1970, one hundred persons will leave Dulles International Airport en route to Europe as members of three distinct Ferrum Junior College tours. The first of these will be the Ferrum Abroad tour. For the sixth consecutive year, this group will study as they travel for thirty-five days throughout the major cities and countrysides of Western Europe. They will sightsee in quaint Holland, roman- tic Germany, gay Austria, steepled Itabf, exotic France, breath-faking Switzerland, and charming England. The trip this year will feature for the first time visits to the beautdul isle of Capri and Pompeii, the city buried by Vesuvius' eruption in 79 A. D.,' visits to Salsburg and Viennag and a complete tour of the French and Italian Rivieras. The highlight of the tour will be the viewing of the famous Passion Play, presented by the villagers of Oberammergau, once every ten years. The students will spend two nights as guests of typical village families of Oberammergau in the Beautiful Bavarian Alps. In 1970 the Ferrum Abroad study group will be taught and directed by Professor James A. Davis of Ferrum Junior College and his wife, Janet. This study program will enable the students to earn six hours of college credit. The second of these tours to view the Passion Play will be designed for ministers and students entering church related vocations. This will be a study and travel group to Luton, England, to participate in industrial relations and related sub- jects. They will study in England, travel on the continent of Europe through five countries for twelve days. The tour lead- ers will be the Reverend M G. Goodpasture and Chaplain Herbert G. Hobbs of the staff of Ferrum Junior College. The third group to depart on Jubf 7 will be the Alumni tour to be directed by President and Mrs. C. Ralph Arthur. This is a first for Ferrum Junior College. The group will tour through the beautiful Scandinavian countries of Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, for a period of twenty-one days.
