This becomes especially true when we see the athletic program at Ferrum today. We thrill to the glories of victory, whether on the football field, the basketball and tennis courts, the baseball diamond or the golf course. We take pride in a well- developed program of intramural sports and physical education. Little do we look behind it all and see the many years of work that went into developing this successful type of program. You came to Ferrum and visualized what hard work and dedication might one day produce. You set to workto develop the best possible type of athletic program -- not so much for the honor and glory of the school, but for the physical, moral, well-rounded development of the student. You've shown us in your classes the great knowledge you have of your chosen field. You've shown us dedication to your work and the enthusiasm needed to carry it out. You've taught us -- you've counseled with us -- you've even gone as far as to seranade us with the music of folk and square. You've dismissed us with thoughts for the day g thoughts though trite as they may seem, prove the devotion you hold to- ward developing a well-rounded adult citizen. ' Because we have come to realize the dedication that is yoursg because we appreciate what you have given to both the college and to each individual studentg because we admire and respect you for what you areg we are proud to dedicate the 1966 BEACON to you MR.
