The Beacon Staff The BEACON Staff, elected by the Press Club in September, includes Elise Satterfield, editor-in-chief, Wade Gunn, associate editor, joe Ann Stevens, feature editor, Ann Bryan, art editor, Kathryn Johnson, organizations editor, Douglas Prillaman, sports editor, Joseph T. Carson, Jr., business manager, and Henry NI. Nlatthews, assistant business manager. Nlrs. Ethel NI. Johnson sponsors the staff. The pleasure-and Work-of preparing this annual has been Our task, our goal has been to make it the best that Ferrum has ever had. We hope that it will contain cherished memories Of the Wonderful days that We have spent here at Ferrum together-Working, studying, and playing. Our lirst task came when the representative of The Stone Printing Company came Out tO show us samples Of covers and to help us select the cover for the BEACON. We hope you will be pleased with our choice. Then the job Of soliciting advertisements confronted us. We went to nearby cities and towns and worked On this project until the last minute. Nleantime photographers from Andre Studio in Lexington came down and took both the individual and group pictures. Then We began collecting snapshots and Write-ups about the various Organizations. Only then could We make the dummy, do the typing, and arrange the pictures. Finally, Our task was finished and the book was turned Over to be printed.
