Walton, joined with the seniors in all school activities. Under his guidance the department rapidly made history. The oHicers were: Ray McAleXander, president, Francine Pendleton, vice president, Bessie Davis, secretary-treas- urer, Annette Flynn, representative to the Student Government, and Glennette Beck, reporter. A Womanless Wedding and Variety Show this year provided funds for the annual gift from the senior class to the school. The audience will long remember with pleasure the thrills, excitement, and laughter that these provided. Many of the members of the department took active parts in school activities, chiefly the Home Economics Club and the Life Service Band. Some supported the basketball teams as cheerleaders. Two senior girls represented the department in eil '25 l the May Day festivities, Glennette Beck, chosen by the student body as maid of honor, and Bessie Davis, attend- ant. A member of the department also had the distinction of being chosen NIiss Ferrum of I95I7', Glennette Beck, winner of the annual beauty contest. Other department contestants were Annette Flynn, Francine Pendleton, Bessie Davis, Frances Shaffer, and Betty Bowling. This year at F. C. has been great and will linger long in the memories of the juniors and seniors. Perhaps the seniors will cherish it more because it was their yearf, As they received their class rings and commencement invitations, they began anxiously to look forward to graduation. When they enter that new era of their lives on May 31, IQSI, they feel that they will be better able to take their places in this great world because of this year at Ferrum. '7 5?
