The anonymous author of these lines seems to echo the sigh of relief from the 1963 Ferriscope staff. Late hours, and frayed tempers were overcome by dogged persistence which finally produced the largest, and we hope, the finest yearbook in Ferris history. The staff is especially grateful to Eileen Smentek, who has put in almost enough hours to be considered a permanent fixture in the office. Eileen, who functioned as assistant editor this year, was one of the most important factors in our meeting all the deadlines. Jerry Faloon, Business Manager, kept the financial affairs under control. The books balanced and were up to date whenever any information was needed, Mr. John McNamara, our adviser, checked on the technical details of the book and spent countless late hours with us in the revision of pages. Without his experience and knowledge we would have overlooked many of the fine points which spell the difference in yearbook quality. The brothers of Lambda Chi Alpha offered their services whenever we were in a tight situation. They were willing to do whatever they could to help. There were times when we needed help which was outside the scope of the adviser. ln these instances we turned to people like Dean Donald Rankin, whose suggestions and concern for the book were greatly appreciated, Mr. Stanley Dean and Mr. Joseph Deupree of Institutional Relations, who provided us with a great number of pictures, Mrs. Veitsch Reinhart and Mr. Ken Drake of Edwards Brothers, who always gave us prompt and cour- teous assistance, and Delma Studios of New York, whose advice and picture identification system were both excellent. A college yearbook becomes a future book of memories. We hope that the 1963 Ferris- cope has accurately captured the school year at Ferris. Andrew Zdeb Editor ' 3
