This group of young ladies, selected from the 12A and 12B classes, serves at all social functions of our school. They are trained to greet and escort to their seats with courtesy and grace, all visitors to our plays, musicals and commencements. They meet every second and fourth Friday of the month, and spend their time in discussion, study, and practice of the manners and customs of polite usage. For, observ- ing the important place in the world that the cultured woman of today holds, they realize how much depends upon one's ability to make people respect her. Learning to make the best of her personality by the constant consideration of the rights and feelings of others, and by the observance of the fundamentals of good manners, each usher aims to attain in the world in which she will find herself a year from now, the reputation of a woman of refinement. They, too, believe that, One's influence is one's birthright and his epitaph. It can make one ephemeral, inconsequential-or it can sing through the years. FERRIS WHEEL AGENTS Any money today ? has been the cry of the Ferris Wheel Agents during the past term. The task of securing subscriptions for the Ferrir Wheel was a hard one. But it was most ably and efficiently discharged by this willing group of students. So well did the collectors do in their sales campaign that over one thousand books sold. Imagine one thousand books subscribed for in the school of only two thousand students! This feat was accomplished only by daily urging and persistence. The students were glad to pay for their books, as in no other way could they escape the hounding of the agents. In order to show its appreciation of the work done by the agents, several prizes were offered to those receiving the largest number of subscriptions. ' The class that first reached one hundred per cent of paid-up subscriptions was awarded two copies of this Ferrir Wheel. It is remarkable that the winner turned out to be a class of Freshmen, Miss Kerwin's class. Page Fiffy-.fix

'I Unheralded and unsung, the students who help in the office form an important unit in, the efficiency with which any high school functions. The Student Office Staff consists almost entirely of volunteers who sacrifice their study periods for the best interest of the School. They always have a Hair for office routine, and are willing, conscientious, and trustworthy. There are a very few who are assigned to the work, and these, too, possess the same desirable traits. The experience they receive in office practice may prove valuable training for their careers in business. Each of the teacher office assistants has her own student help, and there is a wide variety of duties to perform. 3 One of the most helpful of the accomplishments of this student group is the service , rendered each term to the Teacher Schedule Committeee. The school is fortunate, indeed, in having such capable assistants in its office work. Mr. Traina, Miss Curtis, Mr. Seely, Miss Roth, Miss Price, Miss Carlson, Miss Cox, Miss Hart, Miss jinoch, all acknowledge gratefully the help of these students.
