i HONOR SOCIETY fWe prey! 011 toward! the goalj The Ferris Honor Society is now completing its fifth term of exist- ence under the able guidance of its advisors: Miss McMartin, Miss Lee, Mrs. Kelly, and Miss Ackerman. In the future, as in the past, this society will foster Education. However, the club does wish to stimu- late the desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character. To be eligible for membership, the postulant must have completed two years of high school work, and must have earned an Honor Certifi- cate for the preceding semester. Likewise, he must have demonstrated evidences of leadership, character, and service satisfactory to three members of the school faculty, who will ,offer vouchers for this in writing. The meetings, unless otherwise designated, take place every other Monday. During the past term outside speakers gave short talks at these meetings. They proved to be so delightful and educational that a similar program will be planned for the coming term. Page Forty-four F ERRIS BAND Hail to our newly organized band! It has at the present, twenty-three uniformed members and has contributed its tuneful and inspiring melodies to many of our athletic events. This organization has proved itself to be the possessor of enduring patience and faith- fulness. During the summer vacation, the members came to school once a week to prac- tice in order that Ferris might have a band of which it could be proud. Truly, we are proud of this organization. In spite of all the hardships which it has confronted, the band is now greeted as one of the most flourishing and most deserving organizations of the school. No praise is too great for the director, Mr. Schwartz, who has frequently sacrificed his time for us. Vacancies are open in the band, to all students who are interested. We look for- ward to a larger, even more flourishing band in the near future. Drum Major ................................................................
