The Student Voice welcomes the first Ferris Wheel. With the benign wisdom of two years' growth, we gaze with awe and esteem at the new publication. We know the laboring courage it takes. From an humble beginning as a mimeographed copy in 1934 to the the thrill of the first printed issue in '35 was a short but difficult step for us. Another year with the seeming con- fusion of copy, the frenzied last-minute call for more news, the racing about to gather it, the heated debates in the press room, and the school paper had grown-up. This term we established our first exchange and with the Seniors who leave us we feel we make our debut. They made the first Student Voice and we are ready to follow the patternito provide Ferris students with an opportunity to serve and be served. Page Forty SENIOR CLASS PLAY ls it possible to tell the absolute truth, even for twenty-four hours? Yes, it is. At least that feat was accomplished by Bob Bennett, the hero of Nothing But The Truth, the play presented in the auditorium by the Senior Class on the evening of january nine. However, the bet he made placed him in such embarrassing situations that Bob almost lost his friends, his business partners, and his fianceefmuch to the amusement of the audience. The success of this, the hrst Senior Play of Ferris High School, should be an inspiration to succeeding classes. We have but blazed the trailg may you who follow us make of it a broad highway. i HONOR SOCIETY fWe prey! 011 toward! the goalj The Ferris Honor Society is now completing its fifth term of exist- ence under the able guidance of its advisors: Miss McMartin, Miss Lee, Mrs. Kelly, and Miss Ackerman. In the future, as in the past, this society will foster Education. However, the club does wish to stimu- late the desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character. To be eligible for membership, the postulant must have completed two years of high school work, and must have earned an Honor Certifi- cate for the preceding semester. Likewise, he must have demonstrated evidences of leadership, character, and service satisfactory to three members of the school faculty, who will ,offer vouchers for this in writing. The meetings, unless otherwise designated, take place every other Monday. During the past term outside speakers gave short talks at these meetings. They proved to be so delightful and educational that a similar program will be planned for the coming term.
