RALPH B. DOUGHTY Principal A STUDENT'S VIEWPOINT ON THE PUBLISHING OF THIS ANNUAL ln a sense iT is The adminisTraTion ThaT we have To Thank Tor The opporTuniTy To have a Tomahawk This year. To ask our Taxpayers Tor Tinancial aid oTher Than ThaT They already musT conTribuTe is deTiniTely conTrary To The policy oT The school. Pre- vious experience had shown ThaT iT is very diTTiculT To puT ouT an annual wiThouT hav- ing any Tunds oTher Than Those acquired Through The sale oT The books. We were all aware oT This siTuaTion when The proiecT was sTarTed. The problem was puT To us squarely, we knew iT would be diTTiculT. lT would have been much easier Tor Mr. DoughTy To say no , and Thus puT an end To The whole maTTer. He was willing, however, To give us a chance To Try. We sincerely hope ThaT This book will iusTiTy The conTidence ThaT has been puT in us. We know ThaT The adminisTraTion welcomes any exTra-curricular acTiviTy which has real educaTional value. On This basis we can hearTily defend our eTTorTs. Many OT us have worked on This annual in one capaciTy or anoTher, and we can TruThTully say ThaT iT is an educaTional underTaking. We are happy ThaT we could have an annual, Tor iT means a greaT deal To us. There is noThing else oT a Tangible naTure ThaT we could Take wiTh us Trom school ThaT would have halT The value oT This Tomahawk . As The years go by we will value iT more and more as a permanenT record oT some oT The besT Times oT our lives. ln lafer years iT will bring vividly back To mincl The Triends we had, The evenTs we Took parT in, and The small buT imporTanT incidenTs ThaT made our high school days worTh- while. Thus, Trom a sTudenT's poinT oT view, The annual is very signiTicanT, and we Teel graTeTul To Mr. DoughTy and The Board of TrusTees Tor allowing us To publish a Tomahawk This year. -l9T
