Lower right: Senior Dave Phelps makes sure that his measurements arc precise in Woodshop. The fine and applied arts department offers a wide variety of skill-learning opportunities. Through courses from arts and crafts to technical and voca- tional, the lives of each student can be enriched. The goal is to prepare stu- dents for whatever they will do when they leave Ferndale High School. Sub- ject matter and learning saleable skills are important, but the ability to be a good neighbor and contribute to the community is also stressed.
