Barbara Stein, more commonly known to us as Babs, has so completely adapted herself to life at Ferndale High that we often forget she is a foreign exchange stu- dent. She has become a very loyal and spirited fan at the various athletic events. l-ler bubbly personality and American sounding Hin make her a natural diplomat. Waynels American family include Martha, Bill and Mr. and Mrs, William Pinkerton 'iKangaroo has made himself a part of Ferndale High School. His friendly smile was to be seen at many of the school functions-usually in the company of one of Ferndale's beauties, and his easy going manner and fun loving nature soon made him one of the gang. Except for what is left of his accent fhe still insists that it is we who have the accentl , Wayne has become so completely one of the boysv that we tend to forget that he comes from the 'land Down Under . He lilces the things that make up pleasant pastimes for his native born American friends: darfcing at the Rec , a Big Chief at the Tote , drive in movies, a swing in the Thunderbird up and down Woodward, girls, and his American family, Mr. and Mrs. William Pinkerton, Bill, Laura, and Martha. Although the bubbling Australian sense of humor is always lurking somewhere near the surface, Wayne is always aware of his job and his responsibility to his American family and the American Field Service pro- gram. All in all Wayne is a well-rounded fellow-the kind of a person who well represents the greatness of his native Australia, and one who we are sure will always be a credit to any society that he is Mrt of.
