COUNSELGRS Mr. Fred VVagner, ninth grade counselor, has been advising students at Lincoln and now Fern- dale High School for a good many years. He studied at Mfestern Michigan College and the University of Michigan and is a former govern- ment and history teacher. Hunting and fishing are his main outside interests. Mr. XVagner en- joys being in Ferndale High School and is look- ing forward to a good many more years here. Miss Aldrich, eleventh grade counselor, has been a counselor for six years. She formerly taught physical education at Lincoln High School. A graduate of Wfestern Michigan College, she has also attended Northwestern University and the University of Michigan. Miss Aldrich eniovs bowling and collects coins. .Li...z... 3 ' 1-ill i Ill , if A veteran teacher, Mr. Harold Vroman, tenth grade counselor, is well acquainted with students and their problems. A graduate of Eastern Mich- igan College, his earliest teaching experience was in a one-room schoolhouse in northern Michigan. He also taught history and government at Lin- coln High School. His hobbies are photography, traveling, singing, and giving out zero hours. J X1 Mrs. Mae Mitchell, a graduate of Eastern Michigan College, earned the money for her col- lege education by teaching in a country school and working at Ford Motor Company. Before coming to Ferndale, where she taught business administration, she taught in Hamtramack. Mrs. Mitchell enjoys bridge and experimental cook- ing, but her greatest love is travel. Her most pleasant memories of travel center around a sum- mer spent in Hawaii.

IN ALL ADMINISTRATIVE DECISIONS Mr. Chester Nelson, a native of Mar- quette, attended high school and North- ern Michigan College in his home town. After his graduation, he taught in Hunt- ingdon, West Virginia, for a year and then attended the University of Michi- gan. He came to Ferndale in 1922, teach- ing physics and chemistry. He received his Master's degree from the University of Detroit. In 1939, he became assistant principal. Mr. Nelson is very interested in rifles and sponsored the Rifle Club for many years. He and his wife also en- joy classical music. MISS V. LUCILLE MILLER Dean of Girls MR. CHESTER NELSON Asst. Principal In her double position as Dean of Girls and assistant principal Miss Lucille Miller finds a great deal to keep herself busy. She helps plan the school calendar, field trips, and graduation and also does counseling work. A graduate of East- ern Michigan College, Miss Miller first taught home economics at Lincoln High School. After being promoted to her pre- sent position, Miss Miller studied at Columbia University and Wayne Univer- sity for her master's degree.
