Although losing two games, both to district powerhouses, and tying one, the team’s six wins were more than enough to make the season a success. Camp Sequanota in Jennerstown was the scene of this year's pre-season football camp. As- Mike McCall—Co-captain, Bob Rokita—Captain, and Dick Apple Co-captain talk over their Strategy” for their next game with Coach Hyland. sisted by Coaches Hershberger and Matsko, Coach Hyland worked the squad into a well-polished unit. Highlights of the season were a 14-12 victory over Windber, in a game where many people thought the Jackets were playing out of their class, a 20-7 win over Conemaugh Township, the Indians’ only loss, and a 20-19 victory over the Richland Rams. In the Richland game, the Jackets were trailing 19-6 late in the final period. At that point injured quarterback Mike McCall came off the bench to hurl two touchdown passes to Dick Apple; and Bob Rokita kicked two extra points to gain the thrilling win. We wish to thank the team and coaching staff for presenting a very memorable season to the loyal student body and all the followers of the Stingers this year. We hope that next year’s squad can produce an equally good record. We wish them the best of luck in '64. 30
