Marcia Kozma, President The Nurses’ Club is comprised of those girls plan- ning a career in some branch of the medical field. Under the advisement of Mrs. Ling and leadership of Marcia Kozma, the club has had a successful year. All club activities were financially supported by bake sales. Some projects were: giving a family a food basket at Christmas, a trip to the Ebensburg State School and the annual banquet where pins were given to senior girls or those who have been in the club two years. Mr. Schoenwalder Future Teachers Of America This year the Future Teachers of America were very active. With a total membership of 42 people, the club sold plastic year- book covers, conducted a bake sale, held a campaign to raise money for a scholarship to be given to a member. They also sponsored a “student” teaching day. On this day the members of the club were permitted to teach in the elementary school of their own school district. Under the supervision of Mr. Schoenwalder and president, Jean Stephey, this organization helped to prepare its members for a wonderful and rewarding profession. Mr. Alwine JETS OFFICERS: Gordon Grening, President Dave Spiker, Librarian Olli Knighton, Secretary Bill Courter, Vice President John Rychak, Treasurer The Junior Engineers Training Society (JETS) Club has eleven active members this year. The membership is composed mainly of those boys planning to enter some engineering or technology field as a future occupation. First organized in the spring of 1959, this club is part of a national organization of JETS Clubs. The club is sponsored in Johnstown by a Professional Engineering group, but Mr. Alwine is our new school sponsor. The spot- light this year has been on science and engin- eering projects to enter in various science fairs. Other highlights included a tour through the Bethlehem Steel Computer Center and a JETS Seminar at Westmont. In The Library . .
