Once again this year the Jr. and Sr. Y-Teens have played a leading role in the club program of Fern- dale-Dale. The clubs consist of those girls in grades 9-12 and are a branch of the Y.W.C.A. The Sr. Y-Teens, under the leadership of Miss Kleinmeyer and Vivian K nipple sponsored the Sadie Hawkins Dance, a cake sale and sold Christmas napkins. With the advisement of Mrs. Nycum and Donna Hoff- man, president, the Jr. Y-Teens gave a basket of food to a needy family at Thanksgiving, sponsored a dance and sent their pridident to Chatam Col- lege during the summer. Both groups proved to be successful and one of the outstanding activities of the JR. SR. Mr. Schoenwalder Future Teachers Of America This year the Future Teachers of America were very active. With a total membership of 42 people, the club sold plastic year- book covers, conducted a bake sale, held a campaign to raise money for a scholarship to be given to a member. They also sponsored a “student” teaching day. On this day the members of the club were permitted to teach in the elementary school of their own school district. Under the supervision of Mr. Schoenwalder and president, Jean Stephey, this organization helped to prepare its members for a wonderful and rewarding profession.
