For our seventh grade we marched across the hall to be instructed by Mrs. Talbott. We gained John Burger, and lost Ardis Schuler at the end of the sixth grade, who decided to try State Center again. These who came back to eighth grade for the guidance of Mrs. Talbott were: Mary Jean Anderson, John Burger, Herman Corbin, Kelly Haws, Dale Jarboe, Janis McKim, Larry Miller, Judy Clark, Charles Turner and John Wheelock. Ardis Schuler, David Lasko and Lucy Kendall ioined us during the year. John Burger decided to try Waterloo. We were the last class to receive eighth grade diploma with the graduating seniors. The administration must have Forseen what was going to happen to the class since we only have six in the present graduating class. We entered the doors of Fernald High School as bewildered but green Freshmen. We were under the guidance of new teachers consisting of Mr. Don Begg, Mr. Miller, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Chitty. Those who survived the rough land we mean roughi initiation were Mary Jean Anderson, Judy Clark, Herman Corbin, Kelly Hows, Dale Jarboe, Lucy Kendall, David Lusko, Janis McKim, Larry Miller, Ardis Schuler, Charles Tumer and John Wheelock. Sally Lyons came from Roland to ioin our class. We came back for our sophomore year with the same instructors with the addition of Mrs. Cum- mings. Lucy Kendall decided to Further her education in McPherson, Kansas, David Lasko decided to try Michigan and Janis McKim decided to try housework instead of homework. We came back the next year as iuniors with the expectation of receiving our iunior class rings, pre- senting the Junior Class Play and planning our Junior-Senior Banquet. All these events did take place even though we ended up with one headless person about iunior class play time. During the year Larry Miller decided to quit school and Herman Corbin decided to Further his education at Nevada. All the teachers returned with the exception of Mrs. Chitty. At last we are seniors reaching our final goal of our high school days. Our faculty was somewhat changed this year. Mr. Begg and Mrs. Cummings returned to help us in the final step in our education. Mr. Gabel, Mrs. Shaw, and Miss Berrier also joined them in their unknown task. The highlights of this year included Picture Day, Skip Day, Senior Class Play, Annual Meetings, and last but by no means least Graduation. Those receiving their diplomas will be Mary Jean Anderson, Dale Jarboe, Kelly Haws, Ardis Schuler, Charles Turner and John Wrieelock. Even though we have gripped and fought, sweated and played, we have enioyed the Fernald School and will look back on it in the years to come as a great period of our life. I5 -.-W I,
