Y-. . r 1 l I l i Y o 61444 Qfylutoty On August 31, l942, fifteen little troopers came marching up to Miss Hoger's desk for our pri- mary year. Our roll consisted of Mary Jean Anderson, Dale Carsrud, Kenneth Cook, James Ender- son, larry Hall, Mary Anne Heil, James Hitchings, Sandro Huhn, Janis McKim, Donna Myers, Shirley Needham, Donald Oxley, Ardis Schuler, Charles Turner, and Loretta Wood. David l.asko and Eldon Hastedtt joined our troop during the year but decided to move on to some other school. We also lost Dole Carsrud, James Enderson, Mary Anne Heil, Donna Myers, and Donald Oxley. larry Hall decided to stay in primary while we moved on to first grade. Beginning our first grade we accepted or should we say that Miss Perry accepted us as our instructor. During our first grade Herman Corbin, Robert Miller and Dale Jarboe joined us which brought our roll up to eleven members. We began our second grade under the guidance of Miss Pearl Picht. Those on the roll were Mary Jean Anderson, Kenneth Cook, Herman Corbin, Sandra Huhn, Dale Jarboe, Janis McKim, Robert Miller, Shirley Needham, Ardis Schuler, Charles Turner, Loretta Wood. Those who ioined us during the year were Kelly Haws, Betty Jo Upchurch, Richard Guill, and John Wheelock. Those who left us were Shirley Needham who decided to try Rhodes, Ardis Schuler who wanted to see what Denver was like, and we also lost Richard Guill. This is the year one member of our class ended up with a broken arm because of the uneventful flirting taking place on the teeter- totter. Such bliss at this early age. The next fall Miss Picht continued our education for our third grade. Our class roll of 10 was increased again when Ardis Schuler decided she didn 't care for Denver, and Shirley Needham didn't like Kelly. Except for Ardis Schuler, who decided to try Denver again, we all came back for our fourth grade of schooling under the instruction of Miss Norma Mc Kinny. During the year we gained Ronelle Swartz, larry Miller, and Dale Garner, but before the end of the year we had lost Ronelle Swartz. In the fall of I947, we thought we were quite grown up for now we could climb the stairs to the fifth and sixth grade room. Judy Clark came from Nevada to ioin our class, which brought our enrollment up to thirteen. Those answering roll call were Mary Jean Anderson, Kenneth Cook, Judy Clark, Herman Corbin, Dale Garner, Sandra Huhn, Kelly Haws, Dale Jarboe, Janis McKim, Larry Miller, Charles Turner, Shirley Thompson and John Wheelock. During the year we lost San- dra Huhn and Dale Garner. Ne were the first class to be instructed under Miss Lou Wendel. lt was during the fifth grade that we all become ardent supporters of the Audubon nature course under the able direction of Mrs. Wendel. However, almost all hope for our class and its nature instinct was shattered when Kenneth Cook shot a poor, innocent robin. l4
