Last Will and Testament of .the Class of 1953 We, the Fernald Senior Class of 1953, being of sound body and com- paratively sound mind, do hereby leave this last will and testament. The slams which we have omitted from this book to last year's Seniors in return for those they so kindly gave us last year. Barb and Janet's locker to Mr. Begg to do with as he sees fit. Elaine's height to Richard Harmon. -Janet's levis to Mary Jean Anderson. Donna Rae's tiny appetite to Karen Flynn. The five Senior girls' basketball positions to any five other girls capable of filling them. Margaret's delivery route to Delores Miller. Janet's nickname lPudgeJ to Karen Flynn. Barb's typing ability to Francie Miller. Donna Rae 's straight A's to be divided equally among the Sophomore boys. Kay's correspondence with her Air Force man to Lois Picht. Janet's first clarinet chair to Karen Flynn. The Physics class's ability to get Mr. Begg off the subject to his next year's students. fHope you have better luck than we didlj Gay's carefree attitude toward his studies to Donna Crosby. Dean's Buick to Johnny Wheelock. Gay's bass horn to Dick Kaufman provided he grows enough to be able to hold it up. Dean's musical car horn to Dale Jarboe for his Oldsmobile. Helen's dogtag to Betty Wise. Evelyn's capacity for hard work to Francie Miller. Kay's household duties to Marilyn Black. Helen's late hours to Charles Turner. Elaine's worries about her weight to Lois Picht. p Donna Rae's headaches with the Fernald Flash to Sharon Wilson. lShe seems to have got a good start this year., Janet's Nevada boy friends to Karen Taylor. lAs if she needs them., Kay and Gay's nu.merous arguments to Helen and Lee. We were going to will someone s figure to Ardis Schuler, but none of ours would be an improvement. Ray's car to Judy Clark so she won't have to ride the long bus route inthe morning. The Senior Class wills Ray to Sally. Janet's Irish last name to Kelly to go with his first name. J'anet's careful driving to Larry Miller. What? ? ? ? ? ? Ray's ability to defend himself to Herman. Class Prophecy fContinuedJ Y groan was a reflex reaction she had acquired when she used to hear that statement in Mr. Begg's Physics class. Mr. Begg immediately recognized the apologetic young woman as Donna Rae Danielson. In answer to his questioning, Donna told of her career as fashion editor of the Ladies' Home Journal. After congratulating Donna on her suc- cessful career and reassuring her that he would not give a test over his speech, Mr. Begg proceeded to give a most entertaining and thought provoking talk. ' Following Mr. Begg's speech, Ray introduced the four members of the class of '53 who had not been accounted for during the evening. The first of this group was Janet McBride. Janet hardly needed to tell of her occupation for she was known all over America and Europe as the wealthy owner of the fabulous McBride Steam ship Lines. Janet had with her as guest the captain of her largest steamer, Captain John Harkness. Evelyn Jarboe was the only member of the class to have remained in association with Fernald School. She had taken Mrs.' Talbott's place as teacher in the Fernald elementary school system. An outstanding educator, Evelyn was even then being mentioned as successor to Jessie Parker as State Superintendent of Schools. Dean Handsaker was well known because of his job as President of the General Motors Corporation, and the possibility that he might be the second man from that company to be appointed to the President's Cabinet seemed quite likely. The final member of the Class of '53 was Helen Wheelock. She ex- plained that she was acting as campaign manager for one of the more prominent presidential aspirants. Even though the conventions and election would not be held until the next year, Helen proceeded to give a campaign speech extolling the virtues of her candidate, and the huge red, white, and blue campaign button which she was wearing left no doubt as to her political sentiments. It read I Like Wendell. At last, the Fernald High School Class of 1953 was present and accounted for, all happy and successful in their varied professions.

This year's I ratings at contest to Mrs. Miller to distribute to next year's musicians.
