As we bid farewell to you, the class of the nation ' s bicentennial year, we celebrate your birthday as well as that of our nation, since birthdays are not only celebrations of origin, but also celebrations of growth. You have reached a milestone in your life. You are part of an infinite world. Take a mo- ment now to lift your eyes from your books to see what lies beyond; to see not only what you have been, but also what you can be; to rediscover this wonderful nation of ours. I ask that you join inthe never-ending revolution, continuing to work on behalfof America ' s unfinished business, preserving what is good, making right what is wrong, passing on to the next generation the liberties our founding fathers gave to us. Our country has survived. We have had our problems. We have made mistakes, but we are still learning and growing after two turbulent centuries; and so you too, members of the class of 1976, will face problems and make mistakes, butyou too are still learning and growing.
