The Fermata Spur Board was started with the desire to encourage the writ- ing ability of the students and to create an interest in the school magazine. There is no definite size for the board and new members may be added when the board - feels the need to do so, or recognizes an interest and outstanding talent in any girl. The Stirrupf, published in December and in lVIarch, is the literary maga- zineg it is exchanged with many other school publications, and sent to the alum- nae. The Spur, published annually, represents school life by pictures, and the Senior class may have in it what they wish from year to year.

RIDING CLUB iQT President . ..... . JOAN DEMPSEY MEMBERS WISSIE WEST, LOUISE CLARK, LEILA CI-IADBOURNE. NEW MEMBERS ,JEAN FRASER, DIANA VVING, FUZZY WILBERN. The purpose of the Fcrmata Riding Club is to promote riding and to strive for a greater knowledge of horses and horsemanship, and to help the less ex- perienced riders in all possible ways. The club enforces riding regulations and club rules, and establishes a standard of unity and sportsmanship. Each year there are tryouts for membership, open to any Fermata student. These trials include a demonstration of the contestants' riding ability and a written test drawn up by the Riding Club with the riding master's help. This year the Riding Club again put on a Gymkhana, in which most of the 1'id61'S in school, as well as many people outside, participated. The funds from this were donated to charity. On the whole the year was a great success and we are looking forward to many more.
