A peal of thunder, a dark ominous cloud and war-torn Europe came into view. Tenderly nursing the wounded soldiers, and also driving an ambulance, was 4'Louise,', sympathizing with everybody and keeping their spirits up with news from the front. Qdouble meaningj Always faithfully at her heels was a black Labrador retriever. She kept her dachshund well hidden from the Allies. The clouds changed from a war-like shape to what looked like Indian wig- wams, but I knew it to be an army camp as soon as I saw Sid , looking very chic in a hostess outfit playing bridge with the general, his wife and a handsome young ofHcer. . An elephant trunk was clearly to be seen in the evening sky and soon his whole body appeared, and many other animals came into view. By the palm trees I guessed it must be Sarasota, and sure enough-there was uCfL1'llC,,, tak- ing lessons from Beatty while the circus got ready for its spring tour. A willowy cloud minced by, and as I saw Jinny personified, the wind rustled through the nearby trees and in abewildered voice sighed, Huh, I-Ioneyn. Now footloose and fancy free, after a number of husbands, Jinny was headed back to Lake Charles, Louisiana, to find some new talent. Again the sky clouded up, but this time it did not turn out to be an im- pending storm but only Leila , drilling her troop of Cotton Club chorus girls in her new Boogie-VVoogie revue. VVitl1 a sudden start I realized that evening had fallen and the clouds were no longer to be seen. VVith a sigh I gave a last look at the dusky sky, glanced at the time and wandered on. 9

Seam Glwu Pwphwff ...-.qol T was nice lying on the warm grass, looking up at the sky and just reminiscing and wondering. As the big white clouds wafted continuously on, I lost touch with reality and found in their shapes the answer to my thoughts. The Seniors of 1941 passed by as they were now and ........ There was Annex proudly sitting behind the wheel of a shiny, black Cadillac, which had her beloved red leather seats and white wall tires. Next to her was a little Jones Terrier and there was no doubt about it-she was really heading for California this time. Soon Nano came into view and she was wanderin throu h an art al- S g 8 lery in Greenwich Village with her husband, who was very Bohemian, with whom she had just recently eloped. Even from my position I could hear her gently humming a song from Bittersweet . And there was Kay,' contentedly seeing America by bus, oblivious to the spectacular scenery as she heatedly continued a political discussion. Kay was now well-known in the literary world, as a sports reviewer and as a second Dorothy Kilgallen. I could not make out who was so involved at the grocery store counter, bu in canned oods with two dark haired twins trailin her, but of course, it .V E' 8 g . was Kiki of the long dark hair and cowlicked eyebrow, being very domestic. The next cloud that Hoated into sight bringing pictures of the Ferinata Seniors, was the most beautifully shaped one yet. I recognized the capitol, and on the steps was the newly elected Secretary of Labor, who was creating a sen- sation with a fiery speech. Goodness! It was Bobby ! The crowd 1'oared its approvalg the cloud melted into the horizon. Joan as president of the Citizens Legal Rights Committee, was arguing voeiferously and standing up for her liberty. Having won her argument, she dashed onto the polo field for a few exciting chukkers with the wo1nen's team, which she had organized. 4 Andy surrounded by a flock of nine children. The shape of the cloud changed, and from St. Paul the scene changed to a rambling ra11ch in Tucson, Arizona, whe1'e Andy was directing the building of a swimming pool, a tennis court and a golf course.
