CASIMIR DELICH, O.P., Physics, Mathematics, Fathers Club, Science Club The education of the whole man was this year as it always has been, the preoccupation of F enwick's faculty. But as the academic round continued, Fenwick's faculty intensified its efforts by concentrating attention on individual students, their individual personalities, talents, problems and goals. Individual attention to more than eleven hundred young men is a staggering task. This year it was implemented by the development of the counseling department. When school began in September, plasterers, painters and electricians mingled with the flow of students and the first classes were accompanied by carpenters' drills. The coun- seling complexn on the third Hoor was soon completed and in October the counselors held open house. The new addition provides two large offices, three counseling rooms, record rooms and a new classroom. Father Dominic Tamburello had come to Fenwick with ten years' experience as a coun- selor to teen-agers and he quickly organized his program for contacting each student. Mr. Peter Allegretti, veteran college counselor, moved into his new ofhce with expanded facilities for planning the seniors' futures in college. Fathers Kolzow, Mainelli, Nash and Halloran joined our two full- time counselors in the new program. Increased contact and attention demanded an increased faculty. Fr. Delich came from Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas to teach mathematics and physics. Fathers McGreevy and Landmesser and Mr. Langenderfer joined the English department, Fr. Halloran began his career in Theology and counseling. Mr. Ball became the swimming coach and taught American history. Mr. DeGrazia came to teach Latin and Mr. Barnett, chemistry and mathematics. Mr. Ortiz, a native of Spain, came to teach his native tongue to seniors and Misters Tiritilli and Polka joined the Biology depart- ment. But a list of additions does not tell the story of the Faculty, more can be said under the Academics and Organizations where their work was done in reaching and influencing the whole Fenwick man.
