Afier high school in Minne- soia he enfered S+. Joseph's College in Collegeville, lndiana. During his ihree years in ihe Navy he afiended ihe navy fraining school a+ Marquefie Universify, where he remained ai+er his service dis- charge fo gef his degree in engineering. He enfered lhe Dominican Order, 'roolc his philosphy af River Fores+, re- ceived +he degree of Liceniiafe in Phil- osophy, fhen complefed his 'rheology course and was ordained a+ Dubuque, Iowa.
