udic arf c armfi fltaf doofltea . . . This version of an old saying entirely fits in with our lives here at Fenwick. For four years we have been sad, happy, triumphant, and melo- dramatic. In these moods we have sung the Alma Mater, The Victory March, walked through the corridors humming the popular songsg so much that music can be applied very appropriately to every aspect of our lives as students. As Freshmen we had to learn the school songs, the Alma Mater and the Victory March, as part of our initiation. Then to our joy, as Sophomores, we made the new Freshmen learn the same songs that caused us so much trouble. As Juniors we became interested in dances and such popular songs as Tennessee Waltz, Because Of You, Cold, Cold Heart, etc. As we approached the final goal, graduation, two important things that occupied our minds were the Senior Prom and going to college. It was then towards the end of our days at Fenwick that reluctantly we were humming So Long, It's Been Nice To Know You. Even in sports it was our expression of school spirit through singing that brought us through many a hard battle to a glorious victory. In the stands at the football stadium, after every touchdown Qand they were manyj we stood and sang the Victory March as our team walked past us. Mfhen things went tough on the basketball court, we encouraged the team to Fight on through the words of the Alma Mater with special emphasis on the words, For Thee we'l1 ever strive . . . Victory to gain. At the weekly pep meetings no matter bow much we had cheered, we still had enough breath left to sing with great gusto those two songs that always meant so much to us, the Alma Mater and the Victory March. YVC, the editors, could go on for pages telling you about this in words, but turn these pages and see for yourself the happiness enjoyed, the victories accomplished, the goal attained . . . to musical accompaniment.
