FIRST TRUST Kc SAVINGS BANK Armstrong Iowa AUGUST The gates are opened the prisoners file in a.nd numbers are distributed Organized confusion results from new schedules Prisoners don t know when or where to spht the rocks SEPTEMBER 24 New prisoners are initiated OCTOBER 21 22 Prisoners are transported to Algona by armored bus for the annual band festival Prisoners were again loaded into an armored bus for a trip to Fenton for a wildlife 6Xh1b1I Senior cell block members were paroled for one whole day for a trip to Mason City to have their pictures taken School recesses for wardens conference Junior cell block puts on a play Halloween party was a big success despite prisoners disap pomtment because of absence of witches and owls NOVEMBER 25 26 Thanksgiving we get the bird as usual DECEMBER 21 Sentence is suspended for one week in order to observe Christ mas holidays JANUARY 3 We are back to the dungeon 14 Semester week what punishment FEBRUARY MARCH 18- 19-- Boys cell block has basketball sectional Basketball fun n1te a big success with wardens as well as prisoners participating Prisoners have pictures taken for files Girl cell block basketball team paroled for trip to state tourna- ments Boys - cell block basketball team paroled for trip to state tournaments. 28-29--Inmates of the senior cell wing tryadramatic endeavor which APRIL is successful Parole for senior trip goes into effect The return for the seniors to the salt mines is even harder to bear Junior and senior cell block members are paroled to Titonka for the annual career day - --Easter--we hunt eggs at guardians homes Inmates blend voices for the small and solo state music con- test at Bode. lnmates from the band are paroled for K and E band concert at Whittemore. --Third-termers put one an economical banquet and prom at MAY Fenton. 3--Roundup of kindergarten children. 6-7-- lnmates blend voices for the large group and band state music contest at Fenton. Baccalaureate services. Commencement exercises seniors' sentence ends Wardens shake our hands and hand us our walking papers School recesses for one day to give the wardens time to figure out prisoners parole papers --Prisoners come back to celebrate their release.
