Yvonne Arbogast wills her wavy hair to Jim Pertl so he won't have to put Toni's in his hair any more. Duane Dreyer wills his curly hair to the many girls that have been blessed with straight hair. at g r+g1e-,.w ram. to .S In nineteen forty one, a bright new class of eleven pupils enrolled in Fenton Public School. The class was composed of Yvonne Arbogast, Rosemary Fuhr, Larry Gade, Marilyn Jentz, Doris Jean Mortensen, Lynn Ruske, Mark Finnestad, Russel Boyken, Arlis Holldorf, Janice Huskamp, and Beverly Thomas. The teacher who had the privilege of teaching them was Miss Fern Carlson During the second year Duane Dreyer, Bernard Anderson and Robert Speth Joined us raising the enrollnent to fourteen M1ss Carlson was still teaching the bright youngsters so she must have enjoyed them very much Janice Huskamp Beverly Thomas dropped out of the class Bernard Anderson left us the second semester The third year came and Russel Boyken decided to stay in 2nd grade because he llked MISS Carlson We had two teachers this year they were M1ss Bratland and Miss lkwitt This year we were promoted to a different room e fourth year brought us two more students Dorothy DeSart and Charles Barcley Our teachers this year were Miss Hewitt and M1ss Manus They taught us that the world was round e fifth year we suffered the loss of a few students who decided to go to parochial school namely hhrilyn Jentz Mark Flnnestad Larry Gade Duane Dreyer, Robert Speth The class had dropped down to seven Under the supervision of Mrs Long we becane excellent nathenaticians Charles Barcley left the second senester In our slxth year we were promoted to a different room and our new teacher was Mrs Halverson We lost Dorothy DeSart and Rosemary Fuhr who also left for parochial school Oscar Sorenson Joined what remained of the class The seventh year Delores Flnnestad cane in from country school to JOIN our nerry class Delores took Arlis Holldorf s empty seat who transferred to Algona We learned that we were to have Mrs Halverson this year and the next year so we decided to get down to work and be good students The last year of grale school brought the class down to five students Dean Bell Joined the class to make an enrollment of six We will remember the oper ettas that we gave as grade children Mrs Halverson taught us that we must speak up for our rights and it seems as if it has helped us In the fall our jovial class Joined h1gh school as Green Ireshmen Those in our class were Yvonne Arbogast Rosemary Fuhr Larry Gade Marilyn Jentz Doris Mortensen Lynn Ruske Mark F1HD6SC8d Delores Flnnestad Iita Barker Dean Bell Iola Berkeland Wayne Bollinger Oscar Sorenson Howard Bruhn Dorothy DeSart, Robert Friedrich Duane Dreyer and hugh Carney Our teachers were M1ss Darby, Miss H1ll Mr Knowles Mr Brownell V enjoyed our initiation party Our Sophomore year brought us the same class except for Dean wlo left We looked forward to initiate the Freshmen Our Junior year we lost Hugh Carney and Mark Flnnestad We gained Dennis Zumach to our class The nain events were the Junior Class Play Cheaper By The Dozen and the Junior Senior Banquet The last year has cone and the ones in our class are the sane as last year Chr teachers this year are Mr Barker Mr and Mrs Tatum and Mr Brownell We are a class of sixteen eight girls and eight loys We made lf at last SENIORS OF 53 We hope those who follow us Wlll have as many memories of Fenton High School as we have 12 1 1 1 ' Y . . 1 . . . laoo rophecy After 25 years the Senlors of 53 declded to have a reunlor on the famous space sh1p The whlzzer wh1ch was lnvented by Professor Cbcar Sorensen Jr and h1S mechan1c Wayne Bolllnger The f1PSL to arr1ve was Dr L1ta Barker S1nce she has been 1n her med1cal career she has learned to be punctual The next to come was Howard Bruhn who left h1s Wlfe and twelve chlldren home to do the chores Lynn Ruske followed 1n h1s new Cadlllac He 1S now a great 1ndustr1al1st He 1S however, st1ll a bachelor AS we were wonder1ng who would blow ln next we saw a long l1ne of cars com 1ng up It seems that Dorothy DeSart went to Cal1forn1a to V1S1t a ir1end took a Hunky Dory model1ng course and 1S now a great model The other cars were her press agents and admlrers Of course we had to send them back The only one to brlng her husband was Delores Flnnestad She sa1d she has been too busy W0fk1ng on the farm near Lotts Creek and settlng ha1r 1n between tlne to have any chlldren After Dennls Zunach graduated from hlgh school he tr1ed h1s luck Lettlng on horses at all the large races around the country He had such good luck that he now owns the largest horse stable 1n the world He brought h1s TX screen so that we could watch h1S horse race 1n the kentucky Derby Whlle on th1s CFUISC Robert Fr1edr1ch w1ll be campa1gn1ng for the Presldency of the bH1CCd States He 1S for a new party called the self supporters Iola Berkeland s ab1l1ty to use her hands effectlvely has f1nally found her a career 1n L68Ch1Hg deaf mute chlldren the1r A B C s Iola also came to collect a bet, she bet that no one would get marrled unt1l school started the next year and she won Of course Mr Tatum could afford lt now because he Just got h1s 10th car 1n 25 years After Mar1lyn Jentz f1n1shed her course 1D d1etet1cs at the Iowa State Col ledge and Rosemary Fuhr graduated wlth top honors from the Mankato BUSIHCSS College they wert 1nto partnershlp They are now 1n Cal1forn1a at the swank Hlght club h1C8Fd10 s Merts plans deluxe nenus and Rosle takes care of the f1n anclal part of the buslness Duane Dreyer flew 1n from Hollywood where he has taken the aglng Clark Gable s place 1n the f1lm lndustry H1s latest mov1e 1S A Space Shrp Named Deslre Dor1s Jean Mortensen now runs the Fenton Telephone exchange so she helped us catch up on all the hone town g0SS1p Dr Yvonne Arbogast was detalned a short wh1le because she had to dellver quads for Larry Gade Inc Larry IS used to th1s because lt 1S the th1rd set and therefore made lt on tlne The space sh1p was a fa1lure but Professor Sorensen, Jr sa1d 1f we got to gether 1D about ten more years he would have lt so we could all go to the moon so we declded to come back 1n ten years 14 . , . . . ,, . ,, . . . 1 1 ' . . , . , . . . , . , at . . . , .
