CLASS HISTORY N1neteen thrrty e1ght was the year when Fenton Publlc School had f1ve brrght l1ttle youngsters 1D the frr t grade lt wasnt long t1l1 they all were accustomed to the ways of school 11fe the ways they would be followmg for the next twelve years The ones that made up the new class were Dons Blerstedt Floyd Bollrnger Gladys Mueller Kathryn Wxllrett and Anna Bae W91SbfOd The second semester we had two more added to our class and somethlng we drdnt have before tw1ns They were Rose Mary and Ray Cornehus We all had as our teacher M1ss Dahl The second year we st1l1 had the same students and M1ss Dahl was our teacher In the thlrd grade we moved to a dlfferent room We were really gettmg b1g now Th1s year we lost Anna Rae Welsbrod and Kathryn Wrllrett who then attended country school We also had a new teacher M1ss Ter Veer The fourth year of our schoo11ng we had M1ss Bratland as our teacher Th1s year we lost Floyd Boll1nger who transferred to paroch1al school to f1n1sh ht grades We also had a new member 1n our class B111 St1gman Four years had now gone by srnce we started school The f1fth year Gladys Mueller and Dons Brerstedt left to attend paroch1al school Mary Lou Norland came to 1o1n our merry class and at the second semester Layton Behne and Darlene Speth also Jomed us In the slxth grade we were promoted to a dlfferent room and we had two teachers M1ss Manus and M1ss Hewxtt Th1s year Mary Lou left us so now we had a class of flve The seventh year our class really 1ncreased We recexved three new members from country school They were Dolores Mansager Iayne DeWall rand Frank Mlenke We also lost Darlene Speth who attended a dlfferent school In our last year of grade school our class rema1ned the same the f1rst semester then Anna Rae We1sbrod Jomed us Our teacher was Mrs Halverson Now we were ready to begm h1gh school as green freshmen We started out w1th a class of seventeen They were Layton Behne Dons P erstedt Floyd Bollrnger Mlldred Bruhn Ray and Rose Mary Cornehus Jayne DeWall Dolores Mansager Dale Mxtchell Gladys Mueller Beverly Plerce Anna Rae Welsbrod Lloyd Boll1nger Carol Lau Frank Mlenke B111 Stlgman and Marhn Wegener The second semester Carol Lau and B111 Stlgman moved away We mustnt forget that we were also mxtrctted In our sophomore year we gained a member and lost a member Barry Metzger attended the f1rst semester and Marlm Wegener left us Now we were Junlors and could look forward to the Iumor Semor Banquet and our f1rst class playl Th1s year we dldnt have Lloyd Boll1nger and the second semester Frank Mlenke left us Our b1g class was slowly d1m1n1sh1ng Semors of 19501 We fmally got there Now we are a class of twelve e1ght grrls and four boys We hope that those that follow us w11l have as many pleasant memorles of Fenton Hlgh School as we have had 10 l . .
