HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 1959 In 1955 seventy four young and lnexperienced freshmen entered the study hall as a part of hlgh school for the first t1me Before we could catch our breaths those wlsened sophomores really init1ated us Soon after we returned the compliment of the party we chose as our officers Den Morse President, Bill Tromp Vice President, Jane Woodby Secretary, Sharon Wright Treasurer, and Don Bruce Student Council Representative Finally after nine months of work and fun we wound up the year at our annual school plcnic held at County Park Refreshened after three months' vacation we returned w1th sixty seven members to that now familiar study hall, a little closer to our goal, graduation We chose our officers at the first of the year and started planning bake sales to raise money for our senlor trip Our officers were President Sharon Wr1ght, Vice President Don Bruce, Sec rotary Anita Wolters, Treasurer Denny Morse, and Student Councll Rep resentative Tom Phelps This year it was our turn to initiate those lowly freshmen and collect that return party Again the year flew by and before we were ready those semester tests popped up and we were again at County Park windlng up the year with a picnic Our number lncreased to slxty elght when we returned for our Junior year w1th our goal almost 1n our grasp We began making plans for sol ling Chr1stmas cards soon after choos1ng Don Bruce Pres1dent, Jane doodby Vice President, Anlta Wolters Secretary, Elizabeth Brink Treas urer, and Sharie Herhahn Student Counc1l Representatlve Thls year we finally received our class rlnvs, wh1ch o course were the very best Then our jUnl0T play, WThe Perfect Id1ot,W was recelved w1th h1 h suc cess Finally the moment we had all been waiting for the night of the Junlor Senior Prom We chose a nlghtclub theme and proudly rece1ved compliments for days Again semester tests and a picnlc at County Park, then vacation w1th the knowledge that the next graduation would be ours September rolled around quickly and fifty 81 ht senlors returned We had llttle tlme to thlnk of this being our last year because of magazlne sales, the senior play entltled, UThe Beauty and the Beef,n and the win nlng of the Al Van League Championshlp in football We elected as offi cers Don Bruce President, V1ce Presldent B111 Tromp, Secretary Anlta Wolters, Treasurer El1zabeth Brink, and Student Council Represontatlve Mary Jane Van Dussen After the wh1rl of Christmas we settled to the task of ra1s1ng money for our three day senlor trlp to Niagara Falls This year we gladly relented the task of g1v1ng the prom and just sat back to enjoy the fun Then comes the moment we've all been walting for baccalaureate and after four very short fun 'llled years of high school raduation We can hardly belleve it is we who are donnlng the robes and receivanv those very 1mportant diplomas Even afterwards we can look at those diplomas and know to our satisfactlon that our goal has been reached and we've earned the praise of, Wa Job well done n Joyce Flemang LJ C O O O D . 1 3 O : ' - . 1 I I I . .. .
