Hands poised over the book of judgment, Wi. Dedicated and determined in his work, a teacher holds a grave responsibility in the shaping of young human lives. He strives to uncover the realization of a life's purpose and the spirit of individualism hidden in each of us. A teacher has no inhibitions about voicing what he believes best for his students. ln addition to his scholastic duties, a dedicated teacher sacrifices his time in order to supervise the extra-curricular activities so valuable to the development of his students' personality. There is no substitute for a good teacher, and our faculty is among the best in Chicago. English is your most important subiect, say many of our devoted English teachers. This statement is not lust a plug for the English Department, but a startling and very true fact. Do you realize that, to express our every thought, action and emotion, we make use of our knowledge of English? Every piece of literature written, every business transaction, and every word spoken, employs the fundamentals of grammar, punctuation and spelling. With the help and encouragement of our very capable teachers, under the direction of Miss Dunker, Fenger students are being prepared for ' rugged college courses, demanding nothing short of perfection, and ' the errorless business world. ,X 5, Q. Our Assistant Principal describes his birthday as, cold and windy. These conditions have certainly not altected his personality. Now JOHN J. KEHOE he creates a climate ot warmth, humor, and zest throughout Fenger. Mr. Kehoe came to Fenger in 1930, a graduate of University ot Chicago where he received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees. He now maiors in our individual guidance and our program changes. He likes us, we like him! ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS Miss Taylor, mainstay of the school, inspiration to students and support ot the teachers, has been at Fenger tor many years MILDRED TAYLOR She WCIS CI mC1l'i1 Gnd English teacher and later became our placement counselor. Outside school, her main interest is traveling and music. Our assistant principal an accomplished musician, likes to relax after a hectic day by playing the piano or violin. Never without her bright smile, Miss Taylor is always a welcome sight. I

Amidst these exclamations, though, in the various fields of science, Fenger students are very fortunate. Fenger's science faculty, headed by Mr. Koranda, is one of the best in Chicago. It is through this high ability and devoted effort by the instructors that Fenger students are able to gain a thorough knowledge of the wonders of science in our world today.
