, 3, gms : M ,,-MJ F 2 jedi' y0Lll'lg QOIDLJ Fenger High School sincerely hopes it has given, and continues to give, the type of education which will make you strong. We trust that you have acquired the sort of a strength that will enable you to grow throughout life, to continue to blend loving and learning as you march through the most stirring and challenging times ot all history. The strength we speak of here is not the sort that will give you power over others, but rather that gentleness, courtesy, and consideration which will enable you to love and respect your fellow man. This is not the strength of weakness in dis- guise , it is not imitation strength which produces bullies and those who seek to succeed by brow beating others. Rather it is the inner courage, the spiritual cleanli- ness which will help us all to build the communities of which we can be proud, and to create the good will which will re- sult in lasting peace for all of us. lt is a proud Fenger that boasts of these high hopes for its educational pro- gram, it is a mighty Fenger that realizes it has achieved, in some measure, the ideals to which she is dedicated. Ardently do I, and the Fenger teachers, wish for you all that can be called truly strong. IOI-IN E. SENEY

The four years that a student spends in high school is a very short time in which to do all the things that are expected. Many fail because they have no idea what they desire to dog others fail because they attempt to do too many different things and still others fail because they lack the energy or ability to do what they have attempted. Education is society's effort to give direction and method to what might otherwise be the aimless activities of youth. Schools serve to assist these immature and maturing members of our society to do better and more efficient- ly the things which they would do anyhow, and to stimulate them to perform many worthwhile types of activities which they should want to do. Your high school has endeavored to meet the highest expectations of our society and it believes that the results of its labors have been and continue to be, always desirable and satisfying. 7 JOHN l.
