Mr. Earl Wax, principal of FeiTshans High School unTil January of This year. was named direcTor of The Federally financed programs Tor disadvanTaged children in The SpringfiEld'School DisTricT. Mr. Wax was born in Newman, Illinois, and graduaTed from high school There in I925. He received his Bache- lor's Degree in i929 and his MasTer's Degree in I936 Trom The UniversiTy oT Illinois. He also received a Bachelor of Law degree Trom The Lincoln College oT Law in l947. ln I929 Mr. Wax began his Teaching career in The Divernon School DisTricT. He ioined The FeiTshans sTaTT in I934, and served as a Teacher and TooTball coach unTil he became assisTanT principal. In I949 Mr. Wax Took over The duTies oT principal and devoTed sevenTeen years in ThaT capaciTy To our school. IT is impossible To Tell in This brief space all Mr. Wax accomplished Tor FeiTshans in Those sevenTeen years. Perhaps The besT way To sum iT up would be To look around The communiTy To The many ways FeiTshans' sTudenTs have Taken a place in our socieTy--all exhibiTing many oT The sTandards Mr. Wax encouraged and promoTed as an adminisTraTor. ThaT is The only True way To measure a Teacher's success--The resulTs-years laTer. Mr. Wax made a lasTing impression on all who have walked These halls during his adminisTraTion: sTu- denTs, TaculTy. parenTs, employees, visiTors, board members. Now, wheTher pasT or presenT associaTions, all join in congraTulaTing Earl Wax on a iob well clone. All willmiss him.
