CLASS HI TORY As our high school days draw to a close we the Class of 1952 recall the cher1shed memories of our past experiences We all have str1ven for the great moment of graduation but now as it draws nearer we yearn to lmger a little longer in the halls of F H S Here for you to enjoy with us are the cher1shed events of our high school years We all looked forward with eager anticipation to our f1rst taste of high school life Mr Ewing was chosen to guide us through our first turnultuous year of 1948 Core dominated the subjects which we studied and under the leadership of Mrs Ewing we took our f1rst high school tr1p We v1s1ted Annapolis where our tour of the Naval Academy was the highlight of the tr1p Later 1n the year we V1S1t6d the Cam bridge State Hospital and observed offered there These trips w1ll be remembered with pleasure byall of In the year of 1949 we would have been juniors had not the new twelve year system been introduced For the first time the members of our class went their separate ways as they en tered their chosen courses Mr Stapleton chaperoned us on our tr1p to Philadelphia where we V1S1t6d the Sm1thson1an Institute Franklin In st1tute and other outstanding land marks of the c1ty Under the super v1s1on of Mrs Ewing our homeroom teacher we honored the eleventh grade w1th a Spring Hop Our theme was King Neptune's Ball Room and e dance proved to be a huge success Beginning our junior year we took a tr1p to Valley Forge and Philadelphia Miss Grady our homeroom teacher sponsored this trip Connected with our U S History course Mr Ewing our instructor took us to see the gun collection of the late Mr Bruell in Eldorado Spring Flowers were the theme of our successful prom which we gave in honor of the senior class In our senior year we inherited Miss Kemp as our advisor This year something new was introduced into the school system A senior fund was begun into which went all the money the seniors earned through their own efforts This money was to be used for var1ous trips and dances which the sen1ors presented The seniors began an entirely different project when they took over the operation of the concession stand at the lake during the summer to start this fund W1th Miss Kemp acting as chaperon we took the traditional sen1or tr1p to outstanding landmarks of our national Capitol Studying vocations in P O D taught by Mr Jordan we v1s1ted the Dupont Plant 1n Seaford where we observed the process of nnaking nylon The next outstanding memory that we shall cherish was the presentation of our Senior Play Here Come the Brides Through the joint efforts of our class and our sponsor Mrs Ruth M1nk our play was a great success Next to occupy our thoughts was the Christmas Dance Miss Kemp also supervised this affair and it will never be forgotten by any of us This spring we plan to take a two day tr1p it 1S hoped by all that this will prove to be another memorable experience Now we awa1t our last h1gh school experience graduation Then we shall depart from F H S leaving behind us our other schoolmates ! !
