CUfKjt Si SnmiMfU Ad S tcawU. Nothing stands unchanged. Those things that improve are preserved and continue to change as the need arises. All else is cast aside and forgotten. The tree that fails to grow is smothered by larger trees; the seed that develops properly becomes a tree and thus partakes in the forest. Such is life, and no different is Fayetteville Technical Institute. It too must grow and function to meet the increasing demands of an ever-changing society. ecUixal SfUUUUe 7cu eUevdlt, 9l.C. The Hospital affiliations, as of now, are with Cape Fear Valley Hospital and the Veterans Administration Hospital. Health agencies in the area have also been selected for learning experiences. There is a great need, not only of this community but also of communities throughout the nation, for registered nurses. The Associate Degree program is relatively new, but it is proving to be quite successful in preparing Registered muses to function as technical bedside nurses. 32 Elisabeth J. Under the supervision of Mr. Clarence A. Balch, department chairman of mechanical technology the MET I and MET II classes formed a student chapter of the American Institute for Design and Drafting. During the first meetings held in September officers were elected by the membership and the constitution and by-laws were adopted. Justin Brehm of MET II was elected president, Mark Mundin, MET II, vice president, Dwaine Wilkes, MET II, treasurer and Pat Mackley, MET II, secretary. Ronnie Pate of MET II was elected program chairman. The FTI Drafting Fraternity shall operate in accordance with the Articles of Student Chapter activities as set forth in the constitution and by-laws of the American Institute for Design and Drafting. It will be the purpose of this fraternity to disseminate technical information relative to design-drafting for improving the science of graphic communications, to initiate and encourage a continued program of education so as to provide self-improvement and progress through increased knowl- edge and to foster a spirit of fellowship among its members and others of allied interests. The fraternity will attain the above purpose through meetings for presentation and discussion of educational subjects relating to design and drafting, committee activities and field trips. The main activities of the fraternity at present have been to collect dues and applications, and to adopt a fraternity emblem. We of the FTI Drafting Fraternity think that our organization is a big step in making FTI one of the best Technical Institutes in the south. Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges is a national organization for the recognition of outstanding youth in colleges and universities throughout the United States. This organization also recognizes outstanding youth through Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges. Each year, since 1934-35 school year, the organization has published an annual report which contains biographical sketches and other pertinent information on those students who have been selected for their outstanding scholastic achievement, their leadership abilities, their character and moral integrity and their participation in extra-curricular school activities. Each year approximately 1,000 American schools are represented in the organization.
