Drafting and Design Technology Drafting and Designing plays a very important role in the manufacturing and specifications of every product on the market, The draftsman converts his ideas into print. He must be able to apply his knowledge of subject matter to his drawings. The drafting student receives instruction and experi- ence in making freehand sketches, blueprints, tracings, assembly drawings, detailed shop working drawings, erection drawings, and layouts. The different job opportunities open to a drafting graduate are: Engineering assistants, mechanical drafts- men, tool designers, layout men, estimators and many other interesting jobs. 21
