Ci Technology Young men entering this vast field of civil engineer- ing assist engineers in designing and building dams, roads, buildings, bridges, airports, etc. The Civil Technology Program provides the student with a technical background in Highway Technology -- Planning, Surveying, and construction. Engineering materials of raw material and of the finished structure is taught in an elaborately equipped physical testing laboratory. The student leas the concepts of domestic, commercial and industrial construction from the plan- ning, estimating and supervising viewpoint. Engineering Drafting gives the civil technician a knowledge of the language of expression between the engineer and con- tractor. After completing the Civil Technology Program, the student receives an Associate of Applied Science Degree by the Department of Community Colleges under the N. C. State Board of Education. 18
