DEDICATION PROFILE OF A SUCCESSFUL WOMAN Mrs. Emaretta Felton was born in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina. She is married to Mr. Albert W. Felton, a native of Hertford, North Carolina and from this union one daughter was born, Jean Jacqueline Felton. Mrs. Felton received her Bachelor of Science degree at this university and her Master of Arts degree at New York University. The experiences with people of varied cultures and ethnic backgrounds helped broad- en her base of understanding and appreciation for all people of the world. Mrs. Felton taught at Oak Ridge High School for twenty years. In 1965 she began teaching at Ferguson Elementary School. She was well prepared for the job because of her broad base of experiences. Mrs. Felton quotes, Teaching is my chosen profession and 1 consider it a glorious and noble one that I will cherish al- ways. She is a member of the North Carolina Association of Educators, Fayetteville State University Board of Trustees, National Alumni Association of Fayetteville State University, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., First Bap- tist Church, President of Cumberland County Chapter of Fayetteville State University Alumni Association and has recently been named the local Teacher of the Year. COMMENTS FROM MRS. FELTON ' S STUDENTS Mrs. Felton is a wonderful teacher. She is fair, honest, polite, and very understanding. She is the best teacher anyone would ever want to have! She deserves to be the Teacher of the Year! Kimberly Hunter I think Mrs. Felton has been an Outstanding teacher throughout the year, not only to me, but to the rest of the class as well. Greg Fenderson Mrs. Felton ' s impressive history of teaching, her commitment to this university and community gives us an honor to dedicate the 1980-81 Fayettevillian Yearbook to Mrs. Emaretta Felton.
