CHANCELLOR ' S MESSAGE Fayetteville State University is completing 102 years of educational services to the people of South- eastern North Carolina. We firmly believe that the role of this institution is to provide a means of fulfilling the needs of all of the people in our geographic area, however diverse and multicultural their needs. We are committed to helping people irrespective of race, creed, color, or sex. The mottoes and ideals which have been a part of this institution from its founding constitute the guiding principles which are basic to all of our endeavors. May all of us, as members of the Fayetteville State University family rededicate ourselves to those ideals, and thereby lay the foundation for happy and useful lives. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the senior class of 1980 and wish for each of you a bright and cheerful future. May you always remember that man ' s highest calling is the call to serve, and that if you give to the world the best that you have, the best will come back to you.
