DEDICATION We. the faculty and students of Fayetteviile Slate College, take honor in dedicating the 1969 edition of the Fayettevilhan to Dr. David W. Bishop, chairman of the History Department. Fayetteviile State College received Dr. Bishop in 1961. He is a graduate of Shaw University from which he received his B.A. and M.A. degrees. Dr. Bishop went on to earn his Ph.D . from the Catholic University of America. Serving both as professor and as a member of various college com- mittees. Dr. Bishop has proven him- self to be an asset to the college. As a result of his efforts, he is worthy of the honor which comes with this dedication. Dr. David W. Bishop
