(Jur J resicfeni DR. RUDOLPH JONES B. A., M. A., Ph. D. AN ADMINISTRATIVE PERSPECTIVE The current academic year has been a sig- nificant one. The College enrollment reached a thousand for the first time. Secondary education majors began upper level courses. Advanced study in various disciplines has enhanced the in- tellectual atmosphere on the campus. As I peer into the future, I envision exciting activities and accomplishments for the college. The 1963 General Assembly will be generous in its appropriation for our needs. We will recieve funds for much needed capital improvements and funds to attract other highly qualified faculty members. But physical facilities and a large enrollment will n ot be our really strong points in the future. If Fayetteville State Teachers College is to ful- fill its destiny we must acquire an image of a first rate teacher education institution. Asa college with years of experience in the prepa- ration of teachers, we must continue in this field of concentration. In the future this college will have research projects in all phases of teacher education. We must know and teach and practice the most up-to-date methods, procedures, and activities. Most important of all we must acquire a reputation within and without the State as a College where only first rate teachers are grad- uated. It is to this end that I pledge my best efforts. It is this kind of an image that will make all grad- uates and former students increasingly proud of the institution as the years come and go. Rudolph Jones President
