SOUNDS OF ' 68 The 1968 LaFamac reflects the innumer- able sounds which have filled our year at Fay- etteville Senior High School. Beginning with the first day of school, we heard the whispers of confused sophomores, the self-assured in- flections of confident juniors, and the solemn quiet of enlightened seniors. As the year pro- gressed, the activity increased bringing the constant buzz of conversation as new friend- ships developed, the ever present shuffling of feet, the hum of activity from the classrooms, the chant of excited fans at athletic events, the steady beat of the marching band, and the soft music of the Prom. As the year draws to a close, we shall hear the final sounds of the school year — those of graduation . . . the rustling of white robes, the haunting strains of “Pomp and Circumstance”, and the last singing of the Alma Mater by the Class of - 1968. All of these unique sounds are a part of the student body; yet, strangely enough, the sounds blend as harmonious chords that softly ring in the memory and compose the sym- phony of FHS in the . . .
