Secretaries Undispensable to Sekoot MRS. MIRIAM CARTER Collecting all student fees and handling the funds of all thb organizations at F.H.S. is on|y a small part of Mrs. Carter’s job as school treasurer. She keeps an accurate record of all bills and trans- icts many of the business matters of the school. MRS. ANNETTE McELWEE Constantly busy on the telephone, typing letters, or taking dicta- tion, Mrs. McElwee efficiently carries out many of the school’s busi- ness matters. She is Mr. Sasser’s personal secretary and is always ready to aid him in his work. 29 MRS. SARA BULLARD There is never a time when someone, faculty or student, is ot seeking the services of Mrs. Bullard. Indispensable as clinic lecretary, Mrs. Bullard always finds the time, after checking jhe attendance cards of fifty-five homerooms, to call and in- uire about those students who are ill. MRS. ANNE WILKINS A school as large as F.H.S. could never function without the serv- ices of its registrar, Mrs. Wilkins. She works closely with each new student, acquainting him with class and lunch schedules, library privileges, and various school services, as well as handling all stu- dent information folders. 1

Sasser Meads Sekool To preserve achievements and experiences is im- and the future as too slow in coming! More effort portant, but more significant is the wise and profitable use of the priceless asset — time. The great Rousseau once said, “All that time is lost which might be better employed.” — Students, ' often find the present painful as a time for learning respect for authority, for mas- tery of fundamental facts, for the development of high and noble ideals, and for the building of the traits of character and citizenship. How better can one spend the days of his youth ! Students often recall the past as too rapid in flight should be spent in using the brief present to the end that the future may be rich and full and rewarding! This annual is destined to be great in time because of the diligence of its sponsor and staff who have captured the thrills of honors and activities of those ’•’ho now call themselves students. Deans A ivise, Admonisk Administer Mt- Percy lA- Warren and Miss Mdeis Moore Being a dean requires many divers qualities: patience, understanding, a sense of humor, and above all, a strong and never-faltering will. It is, perhaps, the most difficult job to do well and still re- tain the confidence of an impressionable high school student. A dean is compen- sated only with the knowledge and hope that he has shown some student a better and wiser alternative. Our competent deans. Miss Marie Moore and Mr. Percy Warren, perform a wide variety of duties. During the school day one can walk by the deans’ office and see them in conference with teachers, parents, and students concerning such problems as discipline, school policy, and attendance. They help students untangle their problems and learn to fit more smoothly into life at F.H.S. Miss Moore is guardian of the attendance reports, while Mr. Warren serves as mentor of the seventh period de- tention hall.
