foreword The 1964 LaFamac is a portrait of many colors, a mural filled with cherished remembrances of the past year. Together we have participated, learned, thought, disagreed, understood, and matured, and together we have achieved and maintained those high standards of which Fayetteville High School is so proud. We have been united in a mutual love for our school, not so much by a razzle-dazzle show of en- thusiasm, but by a soft and tender feeling from within: Spirit — a Spirit that lingers in the class- room and stalks the busy corridors, crowded with eager students; a Spirit that can turn itself into frenzied, gay excitement at a ball game or a strained, hushed anguish at test time; a Spirit of love for our Alma Mater, a Spirit of understanding, a Spirit that will remain with us for always and always: The Spirit of Fayetteville High School. ' Dedicated to A Man. An unpretentious Man whose body and spirit stalks the corridors of Senior High. He is everywhere and everything. He is fear to the cringing sophomores who hide in the shadows of the hall. He is the stern mentor of hesitant juniors, learning of his great devotion. But to the Senior Class, three years his adopted child, he is all that is good and right. We. the graduating class of 1964, do dedicate the LaFamac to The Man, the spirit of Fayetteville High School: Mr. Percy Warren. 12
