The required courses, English II through English IV, include ex- tensive study of grammar. sentence structure, spelling and word study, composition. and literature. The elective courses -advanced composition, creative writing, speech, drama, and journalism-offer specialized help in speaking and writ- ing. Miss Emma Lee Davis, English IV and advanced composition teacher, received her A.B. degree from East Carolina and her M.A. degree from Stetson University. She is assistant sponsor for the National Honor Society. Mrs. Mary Shuler McMillan, English and Basic Mathematics teacher, received her A.B. degree from W.C.U.N.C.
