lbrincipcafs Message Open your windows toward Athens-to ilztclligclzf thinking rather than zrislzful thinking. liy rational application of wishful thinking you may come to the point of actually believing that you can terminate your formal education any time short of your ultimate oppo1'tunities and still reach your fullest finan- cial and social capacity. Only by intelligent thinking can you come to the full realization of your mental, physical, and social capacities. It is through wishful thinking that you conclude that the political world is unclean and you should keep your hands off, except to reap the harvest of free gifts of government. Intelligent thinking will bring you to the realiza- tion that each American must fight in politics to maintain the dignity of every man to earn a living and to live proudly in his community. The world owes no man a living. Some would tell you that the government or charity will provide for those who cannot make their own way and will give them a free ride to three meals a day and a roof over their heads. But a man with an American backbone will not accept such a program of useless existence. for he knows that you cannot rob a man of the thing that makes a man a man and still have a man left. In the hysteria of current wishful thinking, some would try to convince you that science and mathematics will reign supreme in the future and even- tually rule the world. But through intelligent thinking you will soon return to the substantial belief of the Christian era: that Right is still on the throne and our God is not Death on a scaffold, and that the hero of the day is still the man who can cure man's inhumanity to man.
