The time is coming now at last, For us to dress in cap and gown, To file in chapel-slow not fast- Some will smile, but some may frown. Each Senior is a special case, Differing in many ways. Yet each one hopes to iill a place, Of distinction all his days. At times our lessons have been hard- That French we could not learn! Page Sizztrrcn But when we got that small blue card, lt was a big concern. We're going in the world to see, Just what we have in store. To each l'd like to give a key, Revealing to Success the door. lt's true, we have had lots of fun, But now We'Ve only time to tell, That, though it seems we've just begun, We can but bid a fond farewell. -MERLE BUIE

OUR PRINCIPAL SENIOR A helpful friend, a Senior too, Mr. White, our thanks to you. lt seems only yesterday when the Seniors entered Fayetteville High School in 1945 as Freshmen and when Mr. White began his first year as the head of this school. By offering advice when needed and cooperating with us in every possible way, Mr. XVhite has proved his willingness to help us through the years. To a man who is always cheerful and friendly, yet firm and serious, we would express deep gratitude for his capable super- vision. We feel that he is exclusively ours since he entered F.H.S. when we did, and so we bestow upon him the title of Our Principal Senior. Page Seventeen
