WAS LEAD BY ITS AGCRESSIVE PRESIDENT, CLARENCE GIEBEL, AND WHO WAS ABLY ASSISTED BY A CORPS OF OTHER CAPASLE OFFICERS. JAMES SARRAZIN WAS ELECTED THIRD VICE PRES. OF THE LULING FOUNDATION DISTRICT. THE CHAPTER HELD ITS ANNUAL CHICKEN BARBECUE AT BRENDLE'S PARK WITH HONORARY MEMBERS AND F. H. A. GIRLS AS GUESTS. SOON AFTER ST. vALENTINE'S DAY THE F. H. A. AND F. F. A. HELD A JOINT VALENTINE PARTY. OTHER ACTIVITIES WERE! A FATHER AND SON BAN- QUET, A BARN DANCE, A RED RIVER DAVE SHOW, AND NOW PLANS ARE UNDER CONSIDERATION FOR A SUMMER TOUR. A FEW OF THE BOYS ENTERED SEVERAL PROJECTS IN THE HOUSTON FAT STOCK SHOW AND LIVESTOCK EXPOSITION. JOHNNY MYNAR'S BRA- HORN SCRAMBLE CALF FAILED TO PLACE BUT CLARENCE GIEBEL MADE UP FOR THAT WITH HIS PROJECT OF POLAND CHINA HOGS. HIS HOGS TOOK THREE FIRST AND TWO SECOND PLACES. HE ALSO TOOK THE RE- SERVE CHAMPION ON A PEN OF THREE HOGS. WE ALSO ENTERED THE CALF SCRAMBLE AND MILKING CONTEST. WE ENTERED A SENIOR AND A JUNIOR QUIZ TEAM IN THE DISTRICT LEADERSHIP CONTESTS. THE JUNIOR QUIZ TEAM PLACED FIRST AND THE SENIOR QUIZ TEAM PLACED SECOND. THEREFORE, BOTH TEAMS QUALIFIED FOR THE AREA MEET. THE JUNIOR QUIZ TEAM WON FIRST PLACE IN THE AREA MEET, WHICH QUALIFIED THE TEAM FOR THE STATE MEET, DUT IN THIS MEET THE TEAM FAILED TO PLACE. TEAMS ALSO WERE ENTERED IN THE AREA'S JUDGING CONTESTS OF POULTRY, MEATS, DAIRY, LIVESTOCK, DAIRY PRODUCTS, AND SOIL CONSERVATION. THE POULTRY TEAM PLACED SECOND, MEATS TEAMS PLACED FOURTH, AND THE DAIRY PRODUCTS TEAM PLACED SIXTH, THEREBY EACH QUALIFYING FOR THE STATE MEET. IN THE STATE MEET THE POULTRY TEAM PLACED SECOND.
